Babble

This is a Java implementation of Galoob's completely un-famous 1988 out of print forgotten handheld game, "Babble."* You will need a java enabled computer with a microphone and speakers attached to it to run this. Here's a picture of the original game, which I foolishly destroyed trying to circuit bend it.

Download
- Babble.jar Note: this is not an "applet", it's an "application". You have to download it to your hard drive and run it there. Java doesn't allow applets to access your microphone, so it has to be an application.
- Hit record to store a sample. It will play back for reference.
- Have a friend hit "play" to listen. The sample plays backwards.
- Have the friend hit "mimic" and try to mimic that crazy backwards sound.
- When your friend thinks she knows what the original phrase was, she can hit "Answer" to see if she's right.
Also, "Game 2" functionality isn't here, partly because I never understood "Game 2" (or maybe it never worked correctly in the first place).

* caveat.. I am not related to galoob. I don't know who they are. They did not write this code. It is free for you to download, alter, and use in any way you want to. Consider it public domain code. As such, it carries NO WARRANTY whatsoever. Use this software at your own risk. It may destroy your computer for all I know.
